Sometimes, if not often, what we read in books is far from the things we experience. To me, that is what traveling does... You get exposed to the people of different lands and you realize, hey they aren't that bad or I never thought I could meet so many friendly people out here or wow, they can cook better than my dad.
Traveling is a good thing because in my experience, it has erased a lot of my prejudices with other races. It makes me realize how similar in fact, we all are. We look different physically and may be oceans or seas apart. We may have different cultures and laws but we all have similar needs and dreams. Traveling has broadened my mind and the experiences with different cultures have given me higher learning.
I know I am not alone in admitting the fact that I am prejudiced. I have prejudged people because of their appearances and modes of dressing. This is so unfair. How would you feel if you were a victim yourself? Travel for me bridges the gaps in which our prejudices create.
